Some may have noticed that I have been missing for a wee while, in August 2022 I was diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder that makes life just a tad difficult, especially on top of the other issues I already had. I was able to continue for a while with no real impact on what I had been doing here but then last May after a physio session where I pushed just that little bit too much, things went just a little pear shaped with my health.
I had a major stroke mimic (a feature of the neuro condition), lost my speech, my ability to do anything really. I lost my ability to work at the same time and I am now medically retired which has been a shock to the system, both mentally and financially. There have been so many changes in my life over the last year, that is hard to believe how much life has changed. I have moved too, into a wonderful wheelchair accessible property which is such a relief after being stuck in a property where I would get trapped upstairs because that was where the loo was.
I am hoping to be able to get to a meeting soon, it's been a while but planning is difficult as things don't always go to plan with my brain but we've pencilled in a meeting for the bank holiday...so fingers crossed!
Anyway, my team have been amazing, stepping in and keeping things going in my absence and I really cannot thank them enough. They have been truly wonderful, haven't complained (well not to me) and have been patient and understanding.
Thanks Guys and gals
