Comments: Thompson round Cairns on the opening bends. Cairns almost gets up the inside of Thompson heading into Bend 4 Lap 1. Ward warned for moving at the start once the race had finished.

Heat 02: Perry, James, Coles, Simpson. 67.82
Line Up: Simpson, James, Perry, Coles
Comments: Coles fell on Bend 1 Lap 3 whilst clear out front, remounts and gets into third when Simpson falls on Bend 3 Lap 3. Simpson up and OK.

Heat 03: Hagon, Foord, Marson, Summers. 64.99
Line Up: Hagon, Marson, Summers, Foord
Comments: Foord under Marson exiting Bend 2 Lap 1 and almost gets under Hagon down the backstraight. Hagon blocks the move on Bend 3 and goes on to a comfortable win.

Heat 04: Springer, Scott, Spencer, Phillips. 66.69
Line Up: Scott, Springer, Spencer, Phillips
Comments: Three abreast coming out of Bend 2 Lap 1 and enter Bend 3 together. Springer makes a move under Scott exiting Bend 4 Lap 1 and goes on to take the win.

Heat 05 (Re-Run): Cairns, Simpson, Summers, Phillips (Excluded).
Line Up: Phillips, Cairns, Simpson, Summers
Comments: Stopped. Phillips and Simpson come down on Bend 2 Lap 2. Didn't look to be contact but Referee has deemed Phillips to be at fault for leaning across Simpson. Cairns was well clear at the time.
Re-Run: Cairns from the gate and wins by the length of the straights.

Heat 06: Hagon, Perry, Ward, Springer (Retired). 63.88
Line Up: Springer, Hagon, Ward, Perry
Comments: Spring has bike issues coming out of Bend 2 Lap 1 which lets Ward into third. Springer coasts round before retiring on Lap 2.

Comments: Thompson goes round them all on the opening bends and hits the front off Bend 2.

Line Up: Pijper, Coles, Foord, Spencer
Comments: Foord and Spencer enjoying a great battle on the opening lap before Spencer loses it on Bend 4. Spencer, on the outside, goes into the air-fence but is soon up and clears the track.

Comments: Perry gates but Cairns soon sorts himself out to get under Perry exiting Bend 4 Lap 1.

Comments: Simpson round Scott coming off Bend 2 Lap 1. Scott then pressures Simpson throughout but can't find a way past.

Heat 11 (Re-Run): Thompson, Coles, Summers, Springer (Excluded). 63.92
Line Up: Coles, Summers, Thompson, Springer
Comments: Stopped. Looks like Springer sheds a chain entering the first bend. Springer rides into the pits and gets off the bike limping. Referee stops the race as the bike is too near the track. Springer excluded.
Re-Run: From The Gate.

Comments: Foord and Springer come down on Bend 4 Lap 4. Both are soon up and OK. Springer deemed to be at fault and is excluded.

Line Up: Ward, Phillips, Coles, Marson
Comments: Stopped. Coles round Phillips exiting Bend 2 Lap 1. Ward ran wide on the final bends and goes into the air fence. Ward soon up and OK>

Heat 15 (Re-Run X2): Thompson, Spencer, Simpson (Fell, Excluded), Hagon (Excluded). 66.26
Line-up: Spencer, Thompson, Hagon, Simpson
Comments: Simpson passed Spencer on the inside of Bend 4 Lap 1. Hagon then attempts to go under Spencer coming off Bend 2 Lap 2 but only results in bringing Spencer down. Spencer up and OK. Hagon excluded.
Re-Run: Stopped. Simpson comes down on Bend 3 Lap 1, gets up but as the front two are approaching Bend 3 for the second time the Referee stops the race. Simpson had also lost his steel shoe. Simpson excluded.
Re-Run 2: Thompson takes an easy win.

Comments: From The Gate.

Heat 17: Cairns, Hagon, Coles, Scott. 63.87
Line Up: Cairns, Coles, Scott, Hagon
Comments: Cairns gates and is gone. Hagon works his way through from the back with inside passes on Bend 4 Lap 1 and Bend 2 Lap 3 but gets nowhere near Cairns.

Heat 18: James, Spencer, Summers, Jack Crewe. 65.81
Line Up: Summers, Ward Jack Crewe, James, Spencer
Comments: Tapes held for an age, riders twitching so the tapes are reset. James, second at the time, heads into Bend 3 Lap 1 far too hot, runs very wide but stays on. James then sets off after Spencer and eventually makes the pass on the inside of Bend 4 Lap 3.

Heat 19: Thompson, Foord, Perry, Phillips. 65.00
Line Up: Thompson, Foord, Phillips, Perry
Comments: From The Gate.

Heat 20: Marson, Simpson, Pijper, Joe Crewe. 65.91
Line Up: Simpson, Springer Joe Crewe, Marson, Pijper
Comments: Springer exceeds the 2 minutes and is excluded.

2nd Place Run-Off: Cairns, Foord. 64.63
Line Up: Foord, Cairns
Comments: Foord opts for the inside and Cairns takes the outside.
Cairns showcasing his talent with a hard inside pass on Bends 3&4 Lap 1 before racing away for a comfortable win.
