Nieminen from the gate, Kling sneaked inside exiting the second bend of the first lap. Forsberg passed Ksiezak on the 3rd lap.

Gjedde gated but Jonsson went round the outside on the opening bend and was gone. Evans a long way behind.

Screen led but was passed by Lanham on the inside of the first bend on the 3rd lap. Terrific race.

Forsberg in for Evans.
Race stopped: Unsatisfactory start, all four riders moving at start. Kennett's bike stopped and he had to rush back to pits and jump onto his second bike.
Rerun: Gjedde gated and Kennett chased him down passing him on the second bend of the third lap. Forsberg retired at the back.
