Line-ups confirmed.
Weather warm and sunny with a few clouds in the sky.
In his column, Graham Drury has stated that from 30th June, they are dispensing with the text service, but not the hotline.
Small delay as ambulance has not yet arrived but is on its way.
King's Lynn win the toss and go off gates 1 &3 in heat 1.
Ht 1: Stonehewer passed Hawkins at end of lap 2. Otherwise from gate.
Ht 2: Bethell too busy looking around and not concentrating.
Ht 3: From the gate. Robson way off the pace at the back.
Ht 4: Hawkins R/R. Hawkins was pushed very wide by Allen on 1st & 2nd bend.
Ht 5: Jones' bike has just packed in. Doolan has just come out with his bike.
Topinka passed Tacey on the backstraight. Robson never looked like passing Jones.
Ht 6: Fantastic race! The best race I've (Val) seen all season. Hawkins out front but the race was on for 2nd and 3rd between Stonehewer and Allen. They were passing and re-passing.
Ht 7: Tacey R/r. From the gate with Bethell well off the pace at the back.
Ht 8: From the gate and Wright won by a mile.
Ht 9: Tacey lost it on the 1st and 2nd bend while in front. His bike's front wheel lifted and he spun and fell heavily. He's now up and said he's okay. Val says she doesn't want any more injuries to the team.
Doctor checking him over and he's okay. Tacey excluded.
Drury wanted to bring Wright in instead of Robson in the re-run but the ref told him he couldn't.
Re-run: From the gate, but Allen tried everything to get pass but Robson held on.
Ht 10: Another fantastic race between the first 3 riders. Stonehewer slowing it down superbly with Hawkins just getting 2nd on the line, but most people thought Wethers got it.
Ht 11: Topinka TR. Stonehewer R/R, and Wright in for Bethell.
Jones EF at end of 1st lap. Great stuff by Stonehewer and Wright to see of Topinka's TR. From the gate. Topinka had no answer to the Comets pairing.
During the interval, Stonehewer spoke on the PA and said he had to have physio today as he woke up this morning with his head locked in one place!
Billy Hamill and Leigh Adams named in Stonehewer's testimonial line-up.
Ht 12: Wethers TR. Wright came from 3rd to 1st at end of 2nd lap after Wethers had gated.
Ht 13: Bethell R/R.
Ht 14: Allen TS (off 15m). Wright in for Bethell. From gate, but Tacey did well to hold of Allen.
